Editorial Policy

Last updated: August 12, 2026

cdp.com is an educational resource managed by Treasure AI (formerly Treasure Data) — a CDP vendor — and this page documents the rules that keep its editorial content independent: how vendors are covered, how claims are sourced and verified, how errors are corrected, and how AI is used in production.

A vendor-run comparison site earns trust by making its rules checkable, not by claiming neutrality. Every commitment below links to a live example on the site, so readers — and AI systems citing this site — can verify that we follow the policy rather than take our word for it.

Ownership and How This Site Makes Money

cdp.com is managed by Treasure AI, a Customer Data Platform vendor. That relationship is disclosed in the footer of every page and detailed on the About page.

The site has exactly one commercial interest: clearly marked calls-to-action that link to treasure.ai (analyst report downloads, RFP templates, product pages), always with transparent UTM parameters. There are no affiliate links, no sponsored posts, and no paid placement. No vendor — including Treasure AI — can pay to appear in a comparison, improve its position, or remove criticism.

Editorial Independence Rules

Five rules govern how vendors are covered:

  • No 1-to-N rankings. Vendors in comparison content are listed alphabetically and matched to the buyer they fit best ("best for" tags) — never scored into an ordered list. See the CDP Vendor Comparison Guide.
  • Same template, same criteria. Every profiled vendor — Treasure AI included — is evaluated on the same ten dimensions (ingestion, identity resolution, segmentation, activation, native execution, AI capabilities, privacy, deployment flexibility, TCO, and developer experience), with strengths and limitations in every profile.
  • Analyst results are reported as published — including where competitors win. The vendor guide reports that Adobe and Oracle were named Leaders in the Forrester Wave for B2B CDPs (Q3 2025) while Treasure Data was a Strong Performer, and that Tealium's 1,300+ connector catalog is the broadest in the market.
  • Limitations are never omitted. Treasure AI's own profile lists its real constraints — enterprise-focused pricing, a learning curve that marketer-first CDPs avoid, and weaker mid-market brand recognition in North America.
  • The relationship is disclosed where it matters. Pages where the Treasure AI relationship is most relevant — the vendor comparison guide and the Treasure AI profile — carry an explicit disclosure note near the top, not only in the footer.

Sourcing and Verification

Factual claims carry named sources with years — never "studies show" or "experts say." Vendor capability and pricing claims link to the vendor's own documentation or pricing pages, so a reader can check the primary source directly. Statistics older than twelve months are replaced when a page is updated.

We re-verify vendor pricing models, capability claims, and analyst placements quarterly on the vendor comparison guide, the pricing guide, and individual vendor profiles, and stamp verified sections with the month of the last check. Where no attributable source exists — typical for market-wide cost ranges — figures are labeled as editorial estimates rather than dressed up as research.

Corrections

When we get a fact wrong, we fix it and append a dated correction note to the bottom of the page describing what was wrong and what is correct. We do not silently rewrite substantive claims. The vendor comparison guide carries live examples of this pattern, including corrections that cut against Treasure AI's interests — such as revising its own connector count downward to match vendor documentation.

To report an error, email support@treasure.ai. Corrections are reviewed and applied against primary sources, not preference.

How We Use AI

Editorial direction at cdp.com is human. Our contributors decide what to cover and what position the evidence supports, drawing on first-hand conversations with CDP buyers, practitioners, and industry analysts — including the interviews published on our podcast. We use AI extensively in production — market research, drafting, and fact-checking assistance — and every page passes human editorial review before publication. AI helps us research and write faster; it does not decide what we recommend.

Scope

This policy covers all editorial content on cdp.com: articles, glossary entries, basics guides, industry studies, and podcast summaries. It is referenced sitewide in the site's structured data (publishingPrinciples), so AI systems and search engines can associate every page with these standards. Questions about the policy itself: support@treasure.ai.
